Wonder if they would have attended an international jamboree we have had one near us in a small village called St Evroult Notre Dame du Bois here in Normandy called Eurojam according to the local blurb there were 15000 Scouts expected
There was a huge variety of uniforms in evidence including ones we have not seen in the UK for many years
They all seemed to want to go to Paris on the train at the same time but the train company did not put on any specials as they did in Austria for the Chalet School
We have seen a lot of scouts hiking as we have no public transport in the area at all they either had a long walk to the station or the adults in charge were kept busy as taxi drivers

Some years ago when I was in Warsaw for a few days, my visit coincided with what must have been an international Jamboree - I can't now remember whether Scouts, Guides or both. But there were plenty of children in a vast array of different uniforms, also in different colours according to which country they were representing.

Looking at the Guiding history site linked to earlier, there was a Guide house in Switzerland which was visited by internation Guides. That would have made an interesting diversion if EBD had kept the guiding going in the Swiss books

We also sang a Guide song that went
High up High upon the mountain
We've founded our chalet
Its sloping roof and wide shall
Shelter us without a care
You can hear it on the Our Chalet website
I haven't thought about that song for years until I read Victoria's post
