I'm watching a bloke play Our Love Is Here to Stay on the sax. It's definitely not Cornelia-esque

I was thinking about the CS and epidemics today as we enter Day 10 of our (loose) lockdown two hours outside New York City. I think knowing that you're part of a community helps, but it's hard to imagine going into quarantine without the internet and the virtual meetings that are keeping all of us connected these days. (Of course, early death was more common back then as well, so people might have been better able to process that.)

Talking of singing, my favourite tenor, Joseph Calleja, is sitting things out back in Malta, all his engagements having been cancelled for the duration. He's always very interactive with his fans and has recently been asking for requests on Facebook. He's now said he'll be giving a 25 minute recital online this coming Friday of the most requested arias. Not quite the same as hearing him live, but still a treat.

It's amazing how musicians have pulled together to keep performing under current circumstances.

The Scottish Trad music community has been doing loads of virtual concerts with the hashtag #covidceilidh and I have never heard so much amazing live music!
