One thing that always puzzled me in Does it Again - when Len goes back to school after being ill and is now taller than Margot and Con and she gloats a bit which annoys Margot.

Quote:
"Margot looked at Con. “We’ll have to do something about this!” she said darkly.
“You can’t—the Bible says so!” Len retorted."

What was it that Margot wanted to do that is forbidden in the Bible?

'Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?' Sermon on the Mount- Matthew 6.27

Not forbidden. Jesus just points out it's not possible...

Thanks. I've never read that so I had a look in my Bible.

And the NIV version says "which of you by worrying can add one hour to your life?" Something I always point out to my mum who could worry for Australia :D

But also gives it a totally different connotation and would make no sense in the context of the Margot/Len conversation.

Cheers,
Joyce

Who was Jean Mackenzie?
Apparently her maiden surname was Robertson, so I wondered whether she could have been an elder sister of 'Mops' Robertson, but Mops has only recentishly appeared (in Goes to It), and in any case it wouldn't explain how Jean was a friend of Jo's.

Confusingly, Jean's husband is called Ken Mackenzie, which is almost the same name as Mollie Maynard's husband Kenneth Mackenzie as mentioned in Reunion, although Mollie's husband was originally Alasdair Macdonald, later Mr Bennett.

Let's keep it simple - maybe Jean's husband is a brother or cousin of Jock Mackenzie who married Con Stewart?
