"Auntie Hilda, what's all this about a Summer School here?" queried Len, who had been tidying up the noticeboards.

"Oh, a fan of the books suggested it to me while I was away that term in Triplets". The idea is to run a week or two of the total Chalet School experience for enthusiasts like her - cold baths, maths lessons in German - the lot. People are willing to pay quite good money for it!"

A-level results day was always an anxious time at the Chalet School.

In 2013 at Glendower House, the long-serving headmistress, Mrs Ashton, was fascinated by the new Raspberry Pi, and decided to order many of them for teaching.

But she hated the smell of laser printers, and was paranoid about potential health risks of the toner. So they had been banned from the school, in favour of inkjets.

"No, you will not be arguing from cause to effect," said the new history teacher firmly, "Instead you will be analysing the utility of this source for the specified enquiry."

Inter V were thunderstruck.

"No, Mary-Lou, we are not flying to school," said Miss Annersley firmly. "Do you know how often British Airways and Ryanair go on strike?"

Any overheating had rarely been much of an issue in the past, but even in Wales the increasingly warm summers made the school consider installing air conditioning in parts of the building at Glendower House.

The main assembly hall, especially, could more often get sweltering nowadays, with it's big glass windows that overlooked the garden.

"What do you mean I'm not Sir David Russell? Aunt Joey said I'd inherit father's baronetcy after his death" said David Russell to his solicitor.
"Well, yes, you would have done but your father's title was only a life peerage" replied the solicitor.

In 2019, the head cook at Carnbach was called Anna, a Polish woman. She was feeling uneasy about Brexit (sorry for mentioning that on here), but forgot about it and swore furiously in Polish when a mouse ran along one of the bread shelves in the school kitchen.

It seemed to prefer wholemeal bread, because none of the white sliced loaves had been gnawed at.

"It seems easy enough," said Jo, closing the grimoire. 'Corney and I recite the incantation backwards and on the last syllable Marie plunges the ritual blade into Simone's virgin heart. This causes the Beast to rise and he rules the Tyrol for a thousand generations of evil whilst we Chalet girls serve eternally as his handmaidens of darkness. Except Simone, obviously, sorry Smone."

"That all right, my Jo, I'd do anything for you."
