(With apologies to all Olympic swimmers.)

Thanks to one of Evadne's science experiments, the water at the Chalet School turned lime green. Joey thought it looked beautiful.

It was a mystery to the members of the CS that no Chaletian had ever made it onto Team GB.

"Why can't someone for once please just refer to me by my name!" suddenly exploded Nurse. "The readers don't even know if I'm always me or how many there are of me!"

"Cry me a river," growled Matey as she threw away several sheets that by rights should have been sides-turned-to-middle.

'Gosh, I don't know any of the latest news from the school', said Joey. 'I haven't been near the place in months because I've been really focused on Marie-Claire'.

"OMG!" Mary-Lou had gone to wake her friend up Josette up. "Why didn't you tell me you were playing with a prince?"

Verity was the first British female weightlifter to win gold at the Olympics.

"But Dr Jem said it would be ok!" they wailed.

"I've decided to homeschool the girls," Joey announced. "I don't think the Chalet gives them the opportunity to learn at their own pace and develop their own personalities."

Mary-Lou was demoted as head girl. Getting caught smoking for the third time, on top of her lazy work ethic and lack of interest in the school, was the final straw.

Len Maynard, at seventeen, was really far too old for Inter V, but as the Headmistress, Miss Annersley, remarked to her staff, it was simply impossible to put her any higher in the school.

(from 'The Junior Middles' Treat' in 'Changes, at least to begin with)
Luckily, Miss Annersley had ordained that they must all wear slacks for their trip and the slacks were of blue jean, which would stand any amount of boiling and brushing. The cool kids among the Junior Middles had already ripped theirs through at the knees. Matey was unlikely to see this as a fashion statement, however.

Oh, but Jack has planned his family! Large families are the best, and his is the largest! :D

(Now have a mental image of Jack going "nah-nah-ne-nah-nah" at Jem because he has almost twice as many kids!)

ETA I'm writing a fanfic for another fandom where all the characters (teenagers in the show) grew up to have nine or ten kids. Just realised that that was probably subconsciously influenced by the CS!
