"Matey, we've decided to make some improvements to the plumbing. We're having showers put in," announced Miss Annersley rather shakily.

"Does this mean no more cold baths for the girls?" asked Matey ominously.

"Oh no, Matey, not at all," sighed Miss Annersley, "We're only putting them in the Staff quarters".

Matey nodded threateningly as she left Miss Annersley's study.

"I'm sorry, girls," whispered the Head, "I did try ..."

"Our half term outing will be to the Munich Oktoberfest," announced Madge.

"Evadne's perfectly correct", sighed Madame, "there is nothing in the rules against keeping men as pets".

Actually, I rather see "The Student Prince" as being rather liked by many CS denizens.

Madame is writing one specially for the occasion - and Miss Durrant will be teaching you how to dance on the tables.

"Prefects will wear Bavarian dress and, for the less well-endowed amongst you, Matron has a selection of push-up and padded bras" announced Miss Annersley.

Love it! :D

Sorry to post again quickly but the 'Sybil Comment' thread prompted the following for Madge and her daughters.

'I have to take the girls with me, Hilda,' stated Madge, with her magnificently restored briskness, 'otherwise as soon as my back's turned, Joey will have them married off to the first available dull doctor who needs a glorified housekeeper, a mother for his hordes of children - and anyone else's for that matter - and wants someone to organise his sock drawer!'

 Brilliant! I can actually see that as a true scenario.

Inspired by the "Fancy Dress?" thread:

"Of course you may cut your sheets!" Matron said. "Do you really think I have nothing better to do than wash one hundred and fifty extra sets of bedclothes? If you kindly ruin them, I can throw them away."
"Oh, don't do that!" said Miss Annersley, sounding distressed. "Send the remnants over to Freudesheim so Mrs Maynard can make clothes for the quads!"

This was not seen in "Excitements".

Victoria sat back, looking most disappointed. Judging by what Nina said. her own proposal was not there; and yet she thought it was an excellent one. A school as big as the Chalet School ought to run a naturist club.

"A naturist club?" Miss Annersley said. "What a good idea! There are plenty of opportunities for you to find all sorts of interesting specimens when you go for rambles!"

'Yes'. some of the younger mistresses agreed. A naturist club would definitely attract a lot of handsome, rich young doctors.

A certain edge when she spoke of Mrs Maynard, certainly, but, after all, not everyone could love Joey.

Joey, hearing of the school's latest enthusiasm, decided to apply it to her new girls' tea parties. After all, unless visitors were expected, they hadn't worn clothes indoors at Freudesheim for years...

It saved on laundry tremendously, which was very important in a household of eleven children plus adoptees. Indeed, Joey wondered whether she ought to suggest it for the school. It would certainly make Matron's life easier...

One of the school's legends was how Nell Wilson's hair turned white overnight in her flight from the Nazis .......... however, it was discovered that this was not completely true.

Matey smiled proudly. It had taken her all day but she had finally sorted out the sanity napkins into small, medium and large. Now to deal with the condoms in a similar fashion.

And seeing as all her sanity had been absorbed by the napkins, Matey then dragged the axe out of her wardrobe...

(sorry, couldn't resist!)
