I read that first time as Red SNAILS in the sunset... Which sounds like a Simon Drew mug. Ups.

Ooh are you a Simon Drew fan? I subscribed to a monthly set of cards from him for years. Only guaranteed happy moment of the month at some points!

They are all in albums and being passed on to my niece now who also loves him....

Simon Drew is brilliant - one of my favourite possessions is a set of his 'Happy Families' card game based on actual tradesmen in Dartmouth. Mr Pillar the builder, Mr Cutmore the Butcher, etc.

Oh wonderful - I have met him several times, including in his Dartmouth shop/studio. He's not only brilliant - he's a lovely man :D

Well, the collection of scarlets/ reds is coming along nicely, so thank you to all who've contributed. Of what I've been considering myself, I think I might not go for a recording of Harry Belafonte singing 'Scarlet Ribbons' though...

No - so thanks for that (I'm not as well up in 80s songs as I might be).

I'll have Malcolm Saville's Not Scarlet but Gold, too, I think.

You'd probably enjoy E L Konigsberg's Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver, too

Probably I would - I've looked at it but not yet bought it, but I certainly liked From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler.

That's OK, I'm still in quarantine, so I'll bring 'em over. I'll add A A Milne's only detective story The Red House Mystery, and Andrew Lang's Red Fairy Book and Crimson Fairy Book.

I think we could have some red eats as well - strawberries, raspberries and cherries, for a start!
