Sometimes the English-speaking girls just used English words spoken in a French accent when they didn’t know the correct word on French days. This quiz implies that the French people themselves might find the same solution useful on occasion.

Wow - I scored 10/10 on that, though a couple were pure guesswork!

Thanks for posting these, Lottie - I'm having great fun with them, definitely doing better on some than on others, but that's all part of the fun! :)

It's good to hear that you're enjoying these quizzes. Here's another one.

Joey owned two St. Bernard dogs during the Chalet School series, one apparently rather better trained than the other. This quiz will see if you know more than Joey did about them.

EBD would have got one of these questions wrong as she says that Rufus was nearly 18 in Carola.

Ah well! Maths was never EBD's strong point!

The Chalet School was very keen on folk dancing, and occasionally entertained guests at fund raising events to displays of national dancing. How many of the dances in this quiz do you think they performed?

By the way, you'll need to click twice to get the answers to this format of quiz!

Amazingly I got 10/10 for the folk dances! I only knew a couple but worked out the most likely answers for the rest.

I'm enjoying doing these quizzes though my scores are very uneven. I did well in first aid but terribly in embroidery.

I got 10/10 for dances too, with a bit of guesswork, think that may be my first 10/10

Having fun with these quizzes, thanks for posting them

Thanks, both of you. Here's the next.

From very early on, the girls at the Chalet School needed to speak German. They would probably breeze through this quiz. How well can you do?

10/10 and it's years since I needed any German. I was going to relearn it when I retired and may still do so when I finish my training.

As a person living in Germany I would have been shocked to have got less than 10/10!

PS Are we having a French one too? I hope so. I met SLOC in France. (He's German.)

We had a quiz about some French words on day 11 (at the top of this page). I can't find a French quiz with questions like the German one. However, there are quite a lot of other quizzes about the French language here if you want to have a go at them!

Please do't do this to me. I have other things which I should be doing. Thanks all the same. :D

Kester Bellever may have specialised in sea birds, but I doubt whether he would have had any problems identifying these birds. How well can you do?

It was often said that Katt Gordon was destined to play at Wimbledon. She may have played, but unfortunately she’s not in the record books as a champion. How many of the champions in this quiz do you remember?

No nor did I. My best so far (10/10) were German (to be expected) and Folk Dances (totally unexpected).

I couldn't sleep last night so found myself doing hymns and then Shakespeare...both reasonably good.

That's one of the good things about FunTrivia - there are so many quizzes that there's almost certainly something to suit everyone. Here's something different from the previous quizzes.

I don’t think even Joey would have had too much trouble with the arithmetic required in this quiz.
