I’ve shamelessly taken this sort of game from another board I’m on!

For each book 3 positive or favourite points are mentioned by one person. The next post does the same but by a different person for the next book in the series. You can post about more than one book but not chronologically. Hope that makes sense, I’ll start with the School at the Chalet below.

1. The School at the Chalet

1. Madge, Joey and Grizel’s journey to the Tiernsee with the descriptions of all things “foreign”.

2. The close-knit community of the Tiernsee and the school - everyone knows each other and is willing to help out in time of need.

3. The innocence and tranquility of the Tiernsee so wonderfully described by Elinor.

Next book: Jo of the Chalet School

The Princess of the Chalet School

1. Thc CS has the "honour" of a princess attending it. (Chapter III title)

2. The above princess turns out to be a very normal pupil who is well-liked and not a Thekla-like snob.

3. Lovely description of an outing to the Zillerthal.

Next book: Headgirl

The Head Girl of the Chalet School:

1. Grizel gets to be a heroine and rescue Robin.

2. The CS gang and Friedel von Gluck come across the salt caves, which are going to make a fortune for the people of the Tiernsee (until everyone forgets about them, five minutes later  ).

3. Marie and Andreas's wedding - and, on the same day, the birth of David. I love the wedding!

Next book - Rivals

Eustacia (OK, this one's a bit of a struggle for anyone, I'd say):

1) Bernhilda's wedding - even though the occasion ends rather sadly

2) Eustacia (or rather Stacie) having the courage to face everything that fate throws at her in this book

3) (I don't expect everyone to agree with this) Eustacia's parents dying, as to me, their treatment of her was emotional abuse

Nobody should be complaining, Nyota - they've got two for the price of one, so to speak!

The Chalet School and Jo, coming next, has
1) The School visit to the Passion Play at Oberammergau

2) Better news about the Robin's health

3) Lots of what EMBD would think of as good news: Juliet and Donal are reconciled (even if I do want to give Donal a good kicking), Biddy has a more promising future, Eugen and Marie meet...

The next one is The Chalet Girls in Camp
