Thank you so much, Audrey, Alison and frauj. It always seems so hard when cancer comes back after the patient has a period of being clear.

Also sending good thoughts. What an awful thing.

Prayed for her this morning at Mass, Noreen.

As you say, it's always hard when the thing returns. My sister has just undergone six months of chemo, her breast cancer having returned after 15 years. Bit of a shock, that!

You all helped me when I had it, so sending the most immense good wishes to your friend's sister, and curses to her cancer.

Jennie, thank you so much for reminding me of that time - and I'm sure it's something you'd rather not have raised, so I appreciate it the more - I wonder whether my friend and her family might try the same approach...

Noreen, I now have no qualms about mentioning that I've had cancer. I think it's part of completing my growing-up. (About time too, I can hear my sons saying).

So, my wishes for for your friend's sister are wholeheartedly sincere.

I felt better for knowing that people were cursing my nasty tumour, so do try it. Just let me know her forename, and the curses will fly.

Apologies for not posting an update sooner (I've had other things on my mind), but sadly my friend S's youngest sister HJF has died. My former neighbour J has also died, but at least she made a good age (94) and had a good last year living at what is probably the best residential care home in the area. In both cases, good sums of money were raised for the nominated charities.

My deepest thanks to all those of you who helped with prayers and positive thoughts - it really was appreciated.
