Some little (*censored*) looted and destroyed a Lidl not too far from us last night. That's bad enough, but what's making me super angry is the absolute fools defending them online saying "that's what the government deserves", "that's what Lidl deserves for treating their employees badly", and "big corporations can deal with that". "Hooray for digger looters"(!) I seriously doubt that they were disgruntled employees, activists, or anything other than opportunistic little brats, and I defy anyone to prove otherwise to me. Show the government your feelings in some way other than destroying your own community, putting people out of jobs, and stopping your neighbours from buying their essentials.
I actually thought Lidl treated their employees rather well. Totally shocking that we can be reduced to such violence for the sake of some milk and bread. And why do people need several loaves and pints of milk??

I walked up to Asda earlier and the bread aisle looked as though Armageddon had hit.

There were notices on the empty shelves saying there was a limit of two loaves per customer - my mum said she saw someone trying to buy six at once, only to have four taken off her at the checkout. I mean, the thing only lasted three days and the thaw had already begun by yesterday evening as stated in the forecast, so why the mad panic when everything will be more or less back to normal by Monday? My brother and I were more worried about the Irn Bru supply running out, fortunately the local shop is still well stocked.
Some of the stuff posted on Facebook about it has been hilarious; someone building an igloo in Glasgow city centre, someone sculpting two giant snow feet and claiming we'd had two feet of snow, Neds running a black market on loaves, a guy standing outside a silent Silverburn giving a very Weegie commentary on the gravity of the situation...
I've seen the posts where there are giant bears/robot looking things, they are quite funny.
