Time somebody started a new one of these I think. And whilst i'm here can I beg the mods not to delete the old one as I like reading them and miss those that were deleted when the board was cleared out. Anyhow.

"Oh I have plenty of experience with babies" said the new girl as she petted Marie-Claire "I had quads last year myself. Mummy is looking after them whilst I finish my education".

"I didn't want you to get the wrong idea about me" Jem told Madge "so I brought this over as well as the Elsie books. It's called Forever Amber".

Joey's parties were pretty rubbish but everyone went anyway because she was the only person on the Platz with high speed internet.

"Marry a doctor?" snorted Mary-Lou. "Why on earth would I do that when there's a handsome young pilot I met who could take me to the ruins in South America."

(in the light of JS's recent post on the Dosing Joey thread)

Jack was horrified when he came home one evening to find Joey dosing herself in his study.

'Mm,' she mumbled, blowing a smoke ring. 'Ths's good shit.'

And another one inspired by that thread:

Joey smirked as she removed the whiskey glass from her sleeping husband's hand before he could drop it. 'That always works,' she thought. 'I don't suppose he'll ever notice I've been stealing the sedatives he keeps in his office for the family and replacing them with water. After all, I've been doing it for years!'

'Joey,' said Jack, 'you're looking rather tense and worried. I don't want you getting too wound up, so I've...'

'Oh, not another dose, Jack!' protested his wife, but he held up his hands.

'Nothing like that - I've just laid on a special tea for you, that's all. Now, try one of these special cookies. I had Anna make them just for you...'

ETA: 'She thought she'd made a hash of them,' said Jack, and then, as Joey began to sway gently and giggle, he added, 'but they seem to have come out alright...'

Bruno lapped up Joey's drink before Jack had time to stop him.

A blessed silence fell across the house, and Jack wondered why he'd never thought of slipping a little something into Bruno's water bowl.

:D :D :D

The triplets often wondered why the only fairy story their father read to them
was "Sleeping Beauty".

Even Marvin the Paranoid Android couldn't cope with Jo Maynard. Instead of moaning, he sat in a corner and wept.

A certain edge when she spoke of Mrs Maynard, certainly, but, after all, not everyone could love Joey.
'Life,' said Marvin, 'don't talk to me about life!'

"You tell her",said Len, "It's bad enough being responsible for my brothers and sisters after being born first of the triplets, without being responsible for her as well".

"Oh, it's no use asking Len to be responsible," Jack sighed. "She may be the eldest, but even young Phil has more sense than she does!"

The only good thing about this Guide camp, thought Joey, was the Scout camp in the next field.

This line was not seen in "Exploits"

"Bill" informed them that they were to find out the nature of the substance using the tests she had told them at the last theoretical lesson.
"Test it with acid to see if it gives off a gas" she said "Try it with litmus paper - And, Evadne! Tasting does not come within the test for drugs"

Mary-Lou somehow got smacked in the head by a ski-tow
pole while ineptly dismounting (I once did this on a school ski
trip in Scotland).
